A derivative of DJ’s, this Emcee/DJ is a master at turning heads. Brought in by a house of Jungle Deejay’s at the age of eighteen, he quickly fell in love with the sound of his own voice. Being hammered with expectations from older DJ’s, as well as seemingly useless tid-bits on Hip Hop History, His passion for the sub culture of hip hop and it’s sub genre’s, quickly grew with a greater depth in perspective.

After being introduced to a local radio crew, he began DJing on KGLR. Befriended by promotional director; Rocky Flats, he was quickly educated in broadcast radio. Insisting on the interviewing of major Hip Hop acts, the KGLR Crew took him along to cover festivals and other local venues, interviewing artists such as Brother Ali, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Grouch & Eligh (Living Legends), Zion I (Amp Live & Zumbi), People Under the Stairs (Thes and Double K)

Still rollin’ with a crew of DJ’s who had yet to jump on the “producer train,” he began producing for his own self indulgent need to have dope beats. Learning as much as he could from the talent around him, he eventually became proficient in Acid Pro, Reason, Cubase, FL Studio, Avid Pro Tools, NI’s Maschine, Ableton and Akai’s MPC. From banging out beats to reluctantly cleaning his funky smelly socks, Munity is all about progression. Using both hardware compression and EQ, as well as Izotope’s Ozone and WAVES Diamond Bundle, Munity has also become very talented in the art of sound engineering. Concerned with the recording, manipulation and mixing of Hip Hop/ Rap.

He continues to do a show on KGLR, every Friday from 6-8 PM, using 2 technic turntables and a rane mixer. Be sure to tune in to every Friday, to catch the mixes and scratches of Munity dropping the heat, on KGLR!
